Mt. George Vision

Mt. George staff, parents, and community will work together to support the development of the whole child. We will use student-driven inquiry to create life long intellectual, emotional and social learners.

 Mt. George Mission

At Mt. George International School we are committed to educating every student for success by developing inquisitive, informed, and compassionate citizens. We strive to ensure that students become independent thinkers, problem-solvers, life-long learners and responsible members of an intercultural society.  We put an emphasis on community building and valuing each other’s ideas, and believe in partnering with both families and members of the community to foster a love of learning

International Baccalaureate is a comprehensive program that taps into the curiosity that a child naturally has. IB allows for teaching of the whole child through visual and performing arts, music, technology and the academic areas.

Each classroom participates in six rigorous units of study where students ask questions, explore, research and present their knowledge in a variety of ways, leading to a deeper level of understanding. These 21st century skills are taught through integrating reading, writing, and math in all content areas. Students are encouraged to take action by  creating opportunities based upon what they have learned, to be of service to their community and to make a positive difference towards a better world.

IB has an international aspect that includes exposure to a second language, as well as encouraging students to work towards obtaining attributes such as open-mindedness and being principled. All teachers are highly trained and continue with their education in the latest IB philosophy and ideas.

Mt. George International School is in its sixth year of IB authorization.
